Too young for all this....

Ive realised that im moving fast into a much older frame of mind that I first imagined I was in. Im only 23 (yes ok, its a matter of a few weeks until I turn 24 but im trying not to think about that) and yet im finding myself increasingly happy in such things as a well made non-stick frying pan, a new scent of fabric softener that im NOT allergic to, watching re-runs of Jonathan Creek, Midsomer Murders and the Vicar of Dibley.

And now....we are fast approaching the first ever meeting of our Knitting Club.

Id like to say that this was created in a ironic link to humour, but its not, we actually just want to knit. Although it was mainly based in me trying to find something to do as the boyfriend has got himself a season ticket for the footy. Saturday afternoon's are now my own and I need something fulfilling to take them up (the dissertation is almost completed and I refuse to use Saturdays for school work). So we have created an idea that we must create a massive long scarf suitable for at least two people...in the relevant football teams colours...to be worn at the matches in an attempt to protect our lad's necks in the Winter months, but also to gain photographic evidence of said lads looking a bit silly in public. It's going to be great.

At a recent drunken meeting (ok....our general Friday night outings down the pub) the idea has really taken off and now nearly all the girls we hang out with want to join, beginners and knitters alike! So role on Knitting Club, may it bring plenty of gossip, cakes, tea, Jonathan Creek and, of course, some great knitted goods.

Only problem....the first match is scheduled for 7.45pm Friday. Will we stand firm in starting our first group Knitting Club meeting? Or are we heading down the pub like usual? Can we do both?! Time will tell....
