Ive realised that im moving fast into a much older frame of mind that I first imagined I was in. Im only 23 (yes ok, its a matter of a few weeks until I turn 24 but im trying not to think about that) and yet im finding myself increasingly happy in such things as a well made non-stick frying pan, a new scent of fabric softener that im NOT allergic to, watching re-runs of Jonathan Creek, Midsomer Murders and the Vicar of Dibley.
And now....we are fast approaching the first ever meeting of our Knitting Club.
Id like to say that this was created in a ironic link to humour, but its not, we actually just want to knit. Although it was mainly based in me trying to find something to do as the boyfriend has got himself a season ticket for the footy. Saturday afternoon's are now my own and I need something fulfilling to take them up (the dissertation is almost completed and I refuse to use Saturdays for school work). So we have created an idea that we must create a massive long scarf suitable for at least two people...in the relevant football teams colours...to be worn at the matches in an attempt to protect our lad's necks in the Winter months, but also to gain photographic evidence of said lads looking a bit silly in public. It's going to be great.
At a recent drunken meeting (ok....our general Friday night outings down the pub) the idea has really taken off and now nearly all the girls we hang out with want to join, beginners and knitters alike! So role on Knitting Club, may it bring plenty of gossip, cakes, tea, Jonathan Creek and, of course, some great knitted goods.
Only problem....the first match is scheduled for 7.45pm Friday. Will we stand firm in starting our first group Knitting Club meeting? Or are we heading down the pub like usual? Can we do both?! Time will tell....

Its raining again....
...and its making me feel miserable. Its August and its raining. Baring in mind though, this year we have had some very nice weather indeed and I have bbq'd and got burnt more than once and laid in the sunshine and relaxed in a beer garden....
but its still making me feel miserable.
So here's a poem about pirates....
Deep in the cavern as the tide flows low,
Time now of the essence let the cargo flow,
Salt drying coarsely on my ample face,
Heave Ho me hearties, there’s no time to waste,
The ship tugs taught on its rope to the west,
Darkest of night time there’s no time for rest,
Shouts from the deck now to hurry the pace,
Heave Ho me hearties, there’s no time to waste,
Seaweed clings to my boots as I haul,
Years of practice, I don’t feel at all,
Hot thrill of smuggling is all I taste,
Heave Ho me hearties, there’s no time to waste,
Promise of gold makes the men work hard,
Tidal pools now start to fill the yard,
Loading up the cave now becomes a race,
Heave Ho me hearties, there’s no time to waste,
Last few crates loaded off the ship,
Evacuate the cavern now the tides let slip,
Back into the boughs over the blackest foam,
Heave Ho me hearties, we need to get home.
but its still making me feel miserable.

Choc's Away....
Well there we go....ive entered the world of blogging....apparently.
Lets see how this pans out for me.
Thanks to Storkette for finally making something in my brain 'click' and actually get off my arse and start this up. Been meaning to for a while now.
My life is neither richly fulfilling or vastly interesting, but that does not in any way appear to me to be boring.
Im currently 23..heading fast towards 24...im broke...im currently in my pjs ive had for the past 6-7 years and I have not taken them off all day and have had a creative mindblock-y disaster-y day (y)
Im meant to be completing my masters degree in History at my local university, and i now have just over a month to complete it. Im much further behind than I wanted to be and set myself a target of 2500 words to do today. I failed. This happens alot.
I also work part time for an estate agency....as their secretary and generally person who does all the paperwork and screams insane profanities at the photocopier. Ive been here for about a year and a half and so far I have reached the conclusion that estate agents arent half as bad as people make out.....but the vast majority of the general public are appallingly nasty, made up of liars, cheats and down right lunatics.
The other thing about working for an estate agent means that I have now entered the world of property with my partner, Rich. We now own (although him slightly more than me...did I already mention im broke?) our own flat, which is rather nice and so is he. Generally speaking. Right now i'll agree. He's mentioned cake.
Im going to eat cake.
Yum.
